Nepalgunj, February 23:
Minister for Foreign Affairs and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum chairman Upendra Yadav said the Maoistsâ€™ People Liberation Army combatants should not be merged into Nepal Army.
â€œThose who want to join the Nepal Army should join through individual competition. People Liberation Armyâ€™s merger into the Nepal Army should not happen at any cost,â€ said Yadav, who was speaking at a press meet in Nepalgunj.
Yadav said the Peopleâ€™sLiberation Army fighters should be provided with education and skill training, sent abroad for jobs, provided with loans or mobilised for industrial security as per the individual â€˜s capacity and interest. â€œ
No politically indoctrinated army can be be merged with the Nepal Army. It cannot be done not even in imagination,â€ he said. Yadav also said his partyâ€™s struggle from parliament, government and streets would continue until their demand for
â€˜One Madhes One Pradeshâ€™ were not met. He said, â€œThe Tarai region from Mechi in the east to Mahakali in the west should be made one state.â€
