MORANG: A woman was killed when a tractor hit a motorbike at Sundardulari-6 of Morang district along the East West Highway on Saturday.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Laxmi Chaudhary (30) of Sundardulari-6. Chaudhary was riding pillion on the motorcycle (Ko 18 Pa 9329) that was hit by the tractor (Ko 2 Ta 4346) heading towards the east.

Chaudhary, who was seriously injured in the accident, died while undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, informed Inspector Ramji Katuwal of the Belbari Area Police Office.

Motorcyclist Chabilal Chaudhary (35) is reportedly in a stable condition and has returned home.

The police have detained the tractor driver and impounded the vehicle.
