MAHOTTARI: With the rise in temperature and rainfall, the number of snakebite patients has excessively increased in District Hospital, Mahottari.

Medical Officer at the Hospital, Rajib Jha, said that 35 persons visited the hospital during the last one month where as 13 visited in the previous month.

Earlier, the patients of snakebites would come once in a while but the patients visit the hospital every day at present, said Dr Satish Sah.

It is said that the patients also visit the Jaleshwor Hospital from the Indian cities for the snakebite treatment.

The hospital shared that the number of patients succumbing to snakebite is also less as compared to the last years. So far, two persons lost their lives due to snakebites in the district.
