KATHMANDU, January 5

The low pressure system that entered Nepal from the west on Tuesday night is expected to change the weather throughout the country till Saturday.

As a result, the weather in Sudur Pashchim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki and Bagmati Provinces will remain generally to completely cloudy while partially to generally cloudy in Province 1 and 2.

In a special winter bulletin, the Meteorological Forecasting Division stated that this low pressure system will spread throughout the country by Saturday and bring light to medium snowfall especially in high mountainous and hilly regions of Sudur Pashchim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki Provinces.

Similarly, there are chances of light snowfall in Bagmati Province and Province 1, as well.

Light precipitation will be witnessed by some places of hilly and Tarai regions of Sudur Pashchim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki and Bagmati Provinces and one or two places of Province 1 and 2.

This system will start to weaken gradually from Sunday. Until then people have been requested to take adequate precautions, especially those who are traveling by air or road, or while mountaineering, and carrying out farming activities.
