KATHMANDU, JANUARY 2
Nepal welcomed a total of 1,158,459 foreign tourists in 2025, marking a slight increase compared to the previous year.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), 1,147,548 visitors had arrived in the country in 2024.
The NTB's country-wise breakdown of tourist arrivals for 2025 shows that Indian nationals accounted for the largest share, with 292,438 visitors, followed by Americans at 112,316.
Similarly, 58,684 tourists from China and 57,545 from the United Kingdom visited Nepal during the year.
Likewise, the Board reported that 49,357 visitors arrived from Bangladesh, 37,550 from Australia, 30,243 from Sri Lanka, 30,227 from Thailand, and 24,763 from Germany in 2025.
In December alone, Nepal received 98,190 foreign visitors, the NTB stated.
Earlier, the Board noted that 2019 remains the record year for tourism, when Nepal welcomed a whopping 1,197,191 foreign tourists.
