More than 800 benefit from eye camp in Beldandi

KANCHANPUR: The Geta Eye hospital branch in Mahendranagar organised a free eye check-up camp at Beldandi on Wednesday.

The camp was initiated with the objective of increasing rural people's access to public health and also considering the increasing number of eye patients at the Beldandi primary health centre, said officer at the Hospital Birsingh Dhami.

The eye camps were hosted in Rauleswar and Siddhanath schools where 832 people underwent eye check-up. Of them 147 were found suffering from cataract. They will undergo free surgery at the hospital, Dhami added.

Meanwhile, the locals have requested such camps to be organised regularly in the rural southern part of the district, according to the organisers.
