More tourists visiting Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is witnessing an increase in the number of tourists visiting the park in recent months.

According to conservation officer at the park Nurendra Aryal, there has been an increase in the number of visitors this year. As per the data, the park was visited by 95,357 tourists by mid-March this fiscal, against 87,391 and 88,727 visitors in 2072/73 and the following fiscal respectively.

CPN has put the number of visitors from SAARC countries at 89,070, while the number of tourists from third countries stood at 65,000 during the period. Besides, some 21,366 domestic tourists also visited the national park.

Following a record high 178,000 visitors in the fiscal 2071/72, the national park had seen a significant decline in tourist arrivals following the 2015 earthquakes and border blockade.
