Motorable bridge over Madi River

DAMAULI: The construction of a motorable bridge over Madi River in Tanahun, Sishaghat along Postal Road has reached final stage. Postal Road Consumers’ Committee Vice-chairman Bhupraj Adhikari said that as many as nine pillars have been built. The bridge is being built with an assistance of Rs 120 million from National Planning Commission. Adhikari said that the bridge will be completed within three months. A 204-metre long bridge connects Shyamgha of Tanahun with Duipiple of Lamjung. The bridge will facilitate movement of around one lakh people from Tanahun, Lamjung and Kaski districts.

Two die in Karnali

KALIKOT: Two labourers working on the Karnali Highway near Lalighat bazaar of Kotbada VDC in Kalikot district died after falling into the Karnali River this afternoon. The two fell into the river along with a stone while trying to clear it from the road. The deceased are Kamal Tiruwa of Siuna VDC and Binda Tiruwa of Raku VDC, said Dipak Sunar, a local. It is said that they were working for 15 days on the highway.
