MAHOTTARI: An elderly woman died after a motorcycle hit her at Sonama VDC in Mahottari district on Monday.

The District Police Office, Mahottari, has identified the deceased as Biltuniyadevi Dhanuk (60) of Sonama VDC-8.

Dhanuk, who was critically injured in the incident, died while being rushed to Janakpur Zonal Hospital for treatment.

Motorcyclist Rajabul Momin (22) of the same area hit the elderly woman when she was standing in front of her house at around 8:00 pm.

Police said they are searching for Momin who absconded the scene after the incident.
