KATHMANDU: A person died after the motorcycle he was riding on met with an accident in Dhangadhimai Municipality-8 of Siraha district on Sunday night, police said.

The deceased has been identified as local Dipendra Mahato (23).

Mahato was riding the motorcycle (on-test) when it was hit by an ambulance (Sa 1 Jha 471), critically injuring him in Kasaha at 9:45 pm yesterday, informed police.

According to police, Mahato breathed his last at 10:15 pm the same night during the course of treatment at the Lahan-based Saptarishi Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Golbazaar-based Area Police Office has impounded the ambulance and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
