DAMAK: A person died and four others sustained injuries when a motorcycle and a van  collided in Kamal Rural Municipality in Jhapa district along the Padajungi-Gaurigunj road section on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as a motorcyclist Yogendra Adhikari (34) of Gauradaha-1 in the district.

The accident took place when a motorcycle (Ko 27 Pa 2989) and a van (Me 1 Cha 4963) collided head-on fatally injuring the motorcyclist at Geuriya yesterday, according to Police Inspector Milan Basnet at the Area Police Office, Damak.

Adhikari breathed his last on the way to a hospital in Damak.

Similarly, other injured passengers of the van, Bam Bahadur Katuwal, his wife Devimaya Katuwal have been referred to B & C Hospital while Jagat BK and Bharat Lwagun are undergoing treatment at the local Lifeline Hospital.
