BHOJPUR: One person was killed and another injured when a pick-up van hit a motorcycle in Dharan of Sunsari district on Sunday evening.

Eastern Regional Police Office identified the victim as 45-year-old motorcylist Govinda Bisankhe of Daran-10.

Pillion rider Meen Bahadur Nepali has been receiving treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in a critical condition. He is said to be the Armed Police Force head constable.

Critically injured in the incident near Chhatachok, both Bisankhe and Nepali were rushed to the BPKIHS, where Bisankhe breathed his last during the course of treatment last night.

The vehicle with registration number Na 1 Pa 1510 fled the scene after the incident.

Police said they are looking for the vehicle and its drivers.
