House of Representatives member Bishal Bhattarai from Khotang has written to the home ministry to blacklist Contractor Company for delaying construction of a bridge over Sapsu Khola that connects Diktel Majhugadi Municipality with Sakela Rural Municipality.

Lawmaker Bhattarai had laid the foundation stone of the bridge two years ago on 7 December 2016.

He has demanded that the contractor company be blacklisted as the deadline for completion of the bridge is already 13 months past.  Only one pillar has been erected till date.

According to the contract awarded to Gajurmukhi Harihar Construction Service JV, the bridge was supposed to be completed in 18 months.

The deadline for completing the bridge expired a year ago. Nepal Government Local Infrastructure Development and Agriculture Road Divisions had pledged to provide Rs 23 million for construction of the bridge.

Bhattarai said the country would not become prosperous unless negligent contractor companies were booked.
