Lahan, February 5:

Over 100 persons of 22 Musahar families of Manikdaha Tole of Govindpur VDC-5 in Siraha are compelled to consume polluted water.

A local Dukhi Lal Saday said they consume water from a natural spring which is very dirty. “When there are some guests in the house we bring water from a well at Chapakal,” he said.

He said they were forced to use water from the spring after the people in a neighbouring village started using electric pumps in the public well to irrigate their field. “We have recently submitted application to the VDC secretary to provide us with safe drinking water,” Saday said, adding, nothing has been done about it.
