Musikot teachers shut campus
RUKUM: Teachers at Musikot Khalanga Multiple Campus in Rukum district closed the campus indefinitely on Sunday.
The teachers resorted to the move blaming the campus management committee and the administration for not being serious about the demands forwarded by the campus unit of Teachers’ Union some two months ago.
Since February 11, the Union has been staging an agitation demanding the appointment of a campus chief and assistant chief as per the Tribhuvan University rules as the posts have been lying vacant for the past two months.
Meanwhile, students demanding resumption of studies by solving the problems at the earliest submitted a memorandum to different bodies including the campus administration, management committee, District Administration Office, District Education Office, the agitating union of teachers and district based political parties.
The students have issued a two day ultimatum to solve the problems. They threatened a severe protest if their demands were not fulfilled in the given deadline.
