MUSTANG: Construction works began to connect the Tilicho Lake with road networks in Mustang district.

Tilicho is recognised as the lake situated at the highest altitude in the world and attracts a large number of visitors every year.

The District Development Committee (DDC) began to expand the road network to the lake from the district headquarters Jomsom, considering difficulties faced by travellers, a DDC official Kedar Singh Thapa said.

Visitors are facing difficulties during the travel due to lack of road network, he claimed.

Though three-kilometre track of the road has been opened so far, lack of sufficient budgets to run the project in full phase is likely to mar the further construction job, Thapa added.

The under-construction road has to cross the dense forests, therefore needs a huge amount of budget, it is learnt.
