Mysterious ailment grips school

More than two dozen students at Shankheswor Higher Secondary School in Jakhani of Dandiguranse, Sindhuli, have contracted a mysterious illness that spread quickly in two days, terrifying students and teachers and halting classes altogether at school.

The symptoms include uncontrolled stammering, trembling, inexplicable screaming, and loss of consciousness.

Teacher Meghraj Dahal said the unknown disease had attacked students from Grade VI to X. Parents kept their wards at home after the disease broke out.

Many students have resorted to shamans, and the disease continues to affect students.
