LAMJUNG: The Nepal Army personnel defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted near Hospital Chok in Bensisahara Municipality-8 of Lamjung district today.

The local residents had informed the security forces after seeing some suspicious object on the road pavement.

"The NA personnel from Shreejung Battalion defused the IED that was made using a kettle," Chief of the Battalion Lieutenant Colonel, Madhav Thapa.

Likewise, an IED exploded in the forest near Besisahar at 6:00 this morning, terrorising the normal life.

The ruling pary Nepali Congress has organising a mass meeting in Besisahar, Lamjung district headquarters today where leaders Ram Chandra Poudel and Shashanka Koirala are scheduled to address the election programme.
