NA defuses powerful explosive in Siraha

SIRAHA: A bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army (NA) has defused a power explosive placed at the gate of Dhangadhimai Municipality in Siraha district on Friday morning.

The explosive device enclosed inside a red plastic bag was defused by NA’s bomb disposal team from Shree Sher Battalion based at Choharwa.

According to Siraha District Police Office (DPO) Spokesperson, Apilraj Bohara, it is not clear yet who placed the explosive device there. He added that they were unsure at the beginning about the kind of explosive, which later was revealed to be a pressure cooker bomb.

The site is approximately 300 metres from the Police Post and is under close-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance. The area is also patrolled 24/7 by the police.

An investigation is underway.
