NA health camp for riot-hit locals
DHANGADHI: Nepal Army on Thursday has conducted a health camp for locals of the riot-hit areas of Kailali, at the Joshipur Primary Health Centre of Joshipur VDC in Kailali district.
Locals from Joshipur, Thapapur and Bainiya VDCs, belonging to different age groups, had come to the health camp for check up. Medicines were also distributed at the health camp for free.
After the Tikapur incident of August 24, the government had deployed Nepal Army in the Tikapur Municipality and neighbouring villages including Joshipur.
Pradip Jung Karki, Assistant Chief of the Brigade, said, “We had organised the health camp with an objective to strengthen our relation with the citizens and our aim has been fulfilled. Locals are very happy with our work.”
“We have started this health camp to benefit those people who are unable to go to hospitals for their health check up due to the continuous strike,” he added.
Nepal Army doctors Arjun Paudel and Poonam Rawal had examined the visitors.
A local Parthik Raj Pathak said, “Nepal army has done a great job. I think the NA should conduct such health camps very often.”
Similarly, another local of Joshipur VDC-6, Meena Devi Kusmi, was happy for getting free health check-up and free medicines. She said, “This camp was very much needed. Hospitals charge fees for every single thing and are very expensive. The NA deserves all the praise.”
Deployed army personnel themselves had visited houses of persons with disabilities and treated them from their respective residences.
Lieutenant Colonel Bhuwan Purna Satyal said, “Almost 500 people have been benefitted from the health camp. We will organise another health camp by the end of next week.”
