Narayangadh-Muglin road section obstructed

CHITWAN: Vehicular movement along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section has been obstructed due to landslides at several places.

The road section was blocked after a big landslide occurred at Ghumaune of Bharatpur Metropolitan City at 5:00 am today, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

According to police, it will take four to five hours to remove the landslide debris provided there are no more landslides.

Similarly, several smaller scale mudslides have occurred at Topekhola and Jalbire along the highway.

Earlier, the road was opened for one-way traffic at 1:30 am today by removing the debris that had deposited on the road due to a landslide at Gaighat at 11:40 pm on Monday.

Police have urged for a high alert in view of the possibility of a landslide at any place along this section of the highway as it has been continuously raining since Monday afternoon.

The landslides have taken place at various places along the highway as the roadside has been scrapped in course of road expansion works.
