The task of blacktopping in the eastern section of the Narayangarh-Butwal road stretch along the East-West Highway has gained momentum.
Blacktopping has been completed in 18.5 kilometers out of the total 65 kilometers from Gaidnakot to Daunne in the eastern section.
According to the contract manager of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited, Rakesh Jha, one-side blacktopping with sub-base, construction of large bridges, and walls along the road stretch and rivulet banks are currently underway.
He informed that road expansion works are being carried out with the goal of completing one-side blacktopping in a 42-kilometer section in the next two months.
Jha shared that emphasis has been placed on expediting the construction of significant structures along the road. "Four out of five kilometers in Daunne have been expanded by cutting the mountain area," he said, adding, "Works are being expedited to complete soil cutting in the remaining one-kilometer section in the next one month."
Currently, road expansion has gained momentum from Bhedabari to Jharahi Khola of Gandakot, as well as in Rajahar of Devchuli, Danda Bazaar of Kawaswoti, and Kawaswoti Bazaar area.
