National Assembly passes bills on SEZ and land use
KATHMANDU: Today's meeting of the National Assembly has passed two bills—'Special Economic Zone (first amendment) Bill-2075 and 'Land Use Bill- 2075', unanimously.
During the meeting, Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada, on the behalf of the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Matrika Yadav, tabled 'Special Economic Zone (first amendment) Bill-2075' while Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Kumari Aryal, presented 'Land Use Bill-2075'.
Taking part in the discussion on the bill, lawmakers Thagendra Prakash Puri, Radhe Shyam Adhikari, Ram Narayan Bidari, Anita Devkota, Durga Prasad Upadhyay and Brinda Devi Ale pointed out the need of effective categorisation of land.
On the occasion, Minister Aryal said that the bill was brought for the management of land use as well as for utilising fertile patches that are idle.
The National Assembly shall next meet at 1 pm on March 18.
