Minor drowns, dies

MAHOTTARI: A child died after he got drowned in a canal in Jaleshwor, on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Shyam Shah’s 2-year-old son, Abinash Kumar of Jaleshwor-6, said District Police Office, Mahottari. The boy drowned in the canal in front of his house while playing. The deceased has been sent to the District Hospital for autopsy, police added.

Fewer tourists

SOLUKHUMBU: The number of tourists visiting Sagarmatha National Park has decreasing due to cold weather. Some 13,600 visitors entered the park in the last two months. Record showed that the number was 14,090 during same time last year. The number might have decreased due to earlier arrival of winter season this year, said park officials.
