Delegation meets PM

KATHMANDU: Visiting 10-member high level Chinese delegation led by Hao Peng met Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Wednesday. PM Nepal's press advisor Bishnu Rijal said that the delegates expressed their concern on constitution writing and the peace process. Talks focused on mutual relations and the delegates appreciated the government's effort in curbing the anti-China activities by Nepal. They also met Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala and Home Minister Bhim Rawal separately. The delegation also met CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal.

Man flees custody

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Kalu Tamang, 30, who was taken into police custody on the charge of being involved in girl trafficking a few weeks ago, fled the custody from the Area Police Office Melamchi on Monday night. Tamang tricked the policeman on duty and escaped, the police said. He was detained acting upon complaints that he attempted to take a teenager girl of Inaruwa in Parsa district to India. Investigation has been initiated into the incident after taking the policeman on sentry duty — Jeevan Gole — into custody, according to Inspector Chranjivi Dahal.
