PM meets Bijukchhe

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal met chairman of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Narayanman Bijukchhe ‘Rohit’ at the latter’s residence in Bhaktapur on Tuesday. According to PM Nepal’s press advisor Bishnu Rijal, the duo discussed passing the budget and formation of high-level political mechanism. During the meeting, Bijukchhe asked the Prime Minister about the yet-to-be formed mechanism and ways of ending the current political stalemate.

Health post shut

Mahottari: Local residents of Samsi Bazaar and adjoining areas have been deprived of health facilities after the only primary health centre located here has been shut for over a month due to the paramedics’ protest. Locals of Samsi and the adjoining areas such as Raghunathpur, Basbitti, Gaidabhetpur, Parsadewaha, Sonama and Khairbanni have been deprived of health facilities following the closure of the health post. According to a local Dip Narayan Sah, the health workers are in agitation since October 25 after an unidentified gang thrashed them and threatened to kill them the same day. The agitating health workers demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and legal action against them. The gang had also looted cash and mobile sets from nurses Sunita Thapa and Gananimaya Sinjali during the incident.
