New Maoist website

Kathmandu: The Unified CPN-Maoist on Thursday launched party’s new official website www.ucpnm.org. The website was launched with the updates of the decisions made by the recent standing committee meeting of the party that concluded on Wednesday. The objectives of the site are to provide easy access about party activities to the public. The previous website of the party — cpnm.org — which was the major source of information about the party, was hacked. The previous website was created after the party’s second national conference held in February 2001.

Abducted vet rescued

Sarlahi: Ramnath Shah, officer, District Veterinary Office, Sarlahi, who was kidnapped a week ago, was rescued on Thursday afternoon from Bheli VDC in the district. Shah was rescued by an APF team led by DSP Himalayadev Subedi from Border Security Office, Sarlahi. The team has also arrested two persons for their involvement in the crime. The arrested are Chulahi Baitha (39) and Sikandar Baitha (28) of Bheli VDC 8. Shah was kidnapped last Thursday afternoon when he had gone to the house of Sikandar Baitha for the treatment of animals.
