The Maoists have been asking cadres of rival parties in the district to either give donation or to join their group in the recent times. The participants also urged the Maoists to solve problems through dialogues, and not force. The representatives of the parties also urged the Maoists to act as a responsible opposition.
‘Constitution first’
ILAM: Nepali Congress PP leader Ram Chandra Paudel said the peace process should be brought to a logical conclusion before statute drafting. Addressing an NC programme in Ilam on Sunday, Paudel said that the Unified CPN-Maoist would keep on bargaining as they possessed fighters and weapons in their cantonments. He said, "Environment for the constitution drafting process could be created only after doing away with elements of conflicts." He also added that there was a huge mismatch between what the Maoists preach and practice.
