KATHMANDU, JULY 28

The National Assembly, National Concern and Coordination Committee has presented its annual report for the fiscal 2020-21 in the National Assembly.

Committee President Dil Kumari Rawal presented the annual report in today's meeting of the National Assembly.

The Committee directed to hold discussion with stakeholders in a bid to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

It had also held discussion with experts of the bodies concerned regarding the impact of COVID and upcoming strategy in the last fiscal.

On the occasion, Rawal said that they could not complete many pre-scheduled programmes due to the coronavirus pandemic. The committee held its meeting for the 25th time. It also organised 27 meetings of sub-committees of the Committee in one year.

Though there was an agenda to pass the Nepal Aviation Service Authority Bill regarding the Division of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, 2019 and Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Bill, 2019, it was removed.

Earlier, speaking at the special time and zero hour of the meeting, Upper House lawmakers drew the government's attention to several burning issues, including the need to stop rape and violence against women which have increased of late, provide relief and compensation to the flood and landslide victims and forward key bills as the Federal Civil Service Bill and Citizenship Bill.

The next meeting of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament has been scheduled for 1:00pm on August 2.
