National dailies burnt in Attariya
DHANGADI: Local youths on Wednesday burnt copies of national dailies to protest the way they had reported after the forest area in Godawari was fixed as the permanent headquarters of the Far-west Province.
After the Provincial Assembly passed the government decision to make Godawari the provincial headquarters, various national dailies had published news with headlines such as Chure in danger, Capital on Tiger’s Route, etc.
Locals of Attariya chowk had burnt copies of Kantipur, Nagarik and Annapurna Post sent for distribution in different districts of the Far-west province.
Attariya’s seller Yagyaraj Joshi said that dailies sent for Attariya and all seven districts were burnt. Papers kept in front of Joshi’s Nilam Stationery were all burnt by the local youths.
