Kathmandu, April 17:

The Nepali Congress has stated that the CA election is an important achievement to institutionalise democracy.

“NC feels proud to have held the election under its leadership,” stated a press statement issued by the party today.

The party stated that voters could not cast their ballots in a fear-free environment.

It accused the Maoists of assaulting and terrorising people who did not vote for them in several districts.

“We strongly condemn such acts,” the statement stated. It added that the NC would always remain active towards drafting a new constitution based on universal values and principles of democracy.
