NC CA members flay party’s fuzzy strategy

Kathmandu, June 29:

Nepali Congress leadership drew criticism from its Constituent Assembly members over the lack of clear political strategy.

During the party’s ongoing parliamentary meeting at Singhadurbar, the CA members blamed the party leadership of failing to prepare a clear strategy.

Sources said most of the CA members asked the party leadership to make clear its stance on federalism.

“The NC’s stance on federalism continues to be fuzzy. We need to outline a clear-cut concept of federalism, which should be acceptable to all classes, communities and castes,” a CA member was quoted as saying in the meeting.

CA members Dhanaraj Gurung, Shobhakar Parajuli, Uma Adhikari, Usha Gurung, Saraswoti Chaudhari, Kiran Yadav, Laxmi Parajuli and Narayan Khadka spoke on the occasion.

The CA members criticised the party for not being able to elect party’s parliamentary leader.

“All of them opined that the party should stay outside the government and play the role of effective opposition,” a CA member told this daily.
