NC candidates elected mayor, deputy mayor in Chaudandi of Udayapurur

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress candidate Nirmal Kumar Rai has been elected the mayor of Chaudandai Municipality in Udayapur district.

He garnered 6,855 votes whereas his competitor Kamal Rawat of CPN-UML got 6,197 votes.

Similarly, Rita Chaudhary, Nepali Congress candidate, was elected the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality. She mustered 1,000 more votes than her rival candidate Kanta Rai of CPN-UML. Chaudhary got 7,339 votes.

Of the 10 wards, NC won in six wards, CPN-UML won in one ward and CPN Maoist Centre won in three wards of the Municipality.
