NC condemns attacks and vandalism in Tarai

Nepali Congress today condemned the incidents of vandalism of private houses of the party’s parliament members, local leaders and the party’s offices in some Tarai districts.
Protesters vandalised and set the house of NC lawmakers of Bara — Radhechandra Yadav and Lalbabu Singh — on fire and looted Yadav’s property, manhandled journalists who had reached the site to report the incidents and attempted to attack the house of NC’s Central Working Committee member Farmullaha Mansur in Bara, said the party in a statement today.
The building of the NC party office in Rautahat worth Rs 5 million and the party’s important documents were completely destroyed and the house of NC Rautahat President Krishna Prasad Yadav was destroyed, the party said.
The protesters also destroyed the statue of martyr Tej Bahadur Amatya in Birgunj of Parsa. They also set the houses and vehicles of NC MPs of Siraha Sita Devi Yadav and Ganesh Mandal on fire, the party said.
