NC district presidents for invigorating party
KATHMANDU: A meeting of Nepali Congress district presidents on Thursday focused on the impending general convention and the party’s statute.
The participants pressed for instilling further vigour into the party organisation.
In the meeting held at the NC Central Office BP Memorial Building at Sanepa, the district presidents commented on the impact of the earthquake in various districts of the country and the party’s role in relief and support for quake victims.
Dhading president Ramnath Adhikari said the district presidents attending the meeting stressed on bringing changes to the convention schedule in the districts, areas, towns and villages without influencing the general convention date.
In order to invigorate the party organisation, the presidents suggested formulating a statute that would allow the party’s central president, officials and members to rise from the grassroots level.
Sindhupalchowk president Mohan Basnet said the participants seriously raised the issue of making relief distribution and support for quake victims effective.
Nepali Congress Nuwakot president Jagadishwor Narsingh KC called for an arrangement in order to relocate the money allocated for construction and development works, which has been put on hold since mid-April due to the earthquake for an additional three months.
The party will hold the district presidents’ meet tomorrow too to garner all district presidents’ views.
