NC to finalise poll candidates today
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has said it has finalised nominations in most of the 45 districts for second phase of first-past-the-post elections slated for December 7. The party’s parliamentary board meeting is under way and is finalising candidates, said NC leader Bal Krishna Khand. He added that the meeting would run till late night to complete candidate selection in all remote districts. “On Thursday, we will finalise candidates for districts in Kathmandu Valley and some other districts,” he said, adding that by Thursday morning the party would complete finalising nominations. The NC is also holding talks with Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal; Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal; and Rastriya Prajatantra Party for seat sharing. “Since we are also simultaneously holding talks with democratic alliance partners, our candidate selection has been delayed,” said Khand.
