NC forms 17-member parliamentary committee

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress on Wednesday formed a 17-member parliamentary committee to finalise the candidates for the upcoming parliamentary and provincial elections.

NC finally, formed the committee after the President and Senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel reached an agreement today.

The committee has ten members from PM Deuba panel, six members from Ram Chandra Paudel camp and one from Krishna Prasad Sitaula.

Bimalendra Nidhi, Gopal Man Shakya, Gyanendra Karki, Bal Krishna Khand, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Khum Bahadur Khadka, Purna Bahadur Khadka, Arjun Narsing KC and Chitra Lekha Yedav are from PM-Deuba panel.

Likewise, Prakash Man Singh, Ram Sharan Mahat, Mahesh Acharya, party treasure Sita Devi Yadav as ex-officio member from Paudel camp.

Similarly, Krishna Prasad Sitaual is the member of the committee.

President Deuba and General Secretary Shashanka Koira will be ex-officio President and General Secretary in the committee as per the provision laid out in Clause 31 (2) of the party statute of Nepali Congress.

Meanwhile, Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the committee would finalise the nominee for the proportional representational within two days.
