Party leadership needs change: NC Gen Secy Koirala
CHITWAN: The Nepali Congress General Secretary Shashanka Koirala has opined for changing the leadership of the party.
Talking briefly to media persons at Bharatpur Airport on Tuesday, leader Koirala said, "Even the party leadership needs change, which is possible through convention."
In response to journalists' queries regarding party unification between CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Centre, leader Koirala said the NC has a challenge ahead of them after the unity of two major left parties, and therefore, NC needs to act tactfully.
The unification has given a message to NC to be reformed and competitive. He further realised that NC was weakening and informed that reform process was on.
General Secretary Koirala, also a lawmaker to the federal parliament, clarified that he would be a candidate to the parliament party leader only after forging consensus on it.
