KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Prakashman Singh has said that diplomatic initiative should be taken to lift the unannounced border blockade.

At a Deusi Bhailo programme organised by the Nepal Press Union Women Department, Singh said that genuine demands of the Madhes should be addressed through constitution amendment.

Stating that journalists based in Madhes are insecure due to ongoing Madhes unrest, he urged the government to seek solution soon through the medium of talks.

The NC General Secretary wished all Nepali people in and outside the country for the longevity and healthy life, happiness, peace and prosperity on the occasion of Tihar, Nepal Sambat (Newari New Year) and Chhath.

Singh also pointed out the need of economic revolution by utilising natural resources.
