NC, NSP-A men thrash out myriad issues

Kathmandu, July 15:

Nepali Congress (NC) leaders today met with Nepal Sadbhavana Party-Anandi Devi (NSP-A) leaders today to thrash out issues like the proposed interim statute and the issue of handing out citizenship papers before the election to the constituent assembly, among others.

The NC delegation comprised vice-president Sushil Koirala, joint general secretary Ram Baran Yadav, central working commitee (CWC) member Mahesh Acharya. Amod Upadhayay, who is an invitee in the NC CWC, was also present.

The NSP-A was represented by vice-president Bharat Bimal Yadav, general secretary Hridayesh Tripathi, Rajendra Mahato, Khusi Lal Mandal, Bhogendra Thakur, Anil Jha and Biwanath Sah.

“We discussed how to go about tackling various issues in the near future. This includes how to implement the understandings reached with the rebels,” Mahato said. Other immediate concerns were how to sort out the issue of handing out citizenship papers before the election to a constituent assembly.

Both sides agreed that that the alliance should stick to its blueprint while the nation goes for election to a constituent assembly.
