KATHMANDU, APRIL 10

Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has emphasized the need for unity, solidarity, and discipline within the party.

Addressing a programme titled "Election Review and the Future Path of the Congress", organized by the Nepali Congress Gandaki Province Committee in Pokhara today, he said that all party members must work diligently, keeping in mind the local and provincial elections scheduled for next year.

Stating that established political parties are facing challenges due to the rise of populism and the influence of new media across the world, he stressed the need for both political and economic liberalism.

Similarly, Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma said there was no justification for approaching the court, as the new leadership of the Nepali Congress was elected through a special general convention. He further urged leaders to work collectively and focus on the party's future direction.

General Secretary Pradeep Poudel said the party now has an opportunity to review its election performance and move forward with a clear and coherent vision.
