KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 25
Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba emphasized that Nepal's diverse society has many religious and cultural customs to be proud of.
He expressed this sentiment in a message of best wishes to Tharu women on the occasion of Jitiya festival.
On behalf of himself and his party, Deuba extended wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to the Tharu community, noting that the Jitiya festival holds a special place in their lifestyle.
Observed primarily by Tharu women in Nepal's Tarai region, this festival involves fasting for the health and long life of family members.
