GULARIYA: Nepali Congress candidates have won the posts of mayor and deputy mayor of Gulariya Municipality in Bardiya district, Election Commission said.

Kitu Yadav was elected as the mayor of municipality.

He received 6,207 votes while his closest rival from CPN UML Hari Gyawali garnered 5,736 votes.

Similarly, NC's Sushila Giri was elected to the post of the deputy mayor of the municipality. She received  6,336 votes, while her nearest rival UML's Tika Samseli got 5,685 votes.
