NC won’t buy PR formula, says Deuba

Dhading, November 15:

Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said today that the “NC will never advocate the proportional representational (PR) system of elections because demand for such a system is being raised to prevent the constituent assembly elections from taking place.”

Deuba made this remark while inaugurating the Thopalkhola Hydro-electricity Project amidst a function at Raitar of Salang VDC-9.

As unity is needed among political parties to resolve problems, the seven parties are committed to holding the elections at the earliest, he said.

The project, commissioned by the Thopalkhola Hydro Power Company Private Limited, generates 1650-kw of electricity.
