Ncell Foundation has announced Rs 10 million in financial support to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by Wednesday's devastating Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa.
The flood caused extensive loss of lives and property in riverside areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha, among other districts.
The foundation said the assistance was announced in response to the government's appeal for support for rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Ncell has also been providing free communication services to customers in flood-affected areas. Customers have been receiving free voice and data services, along with 100 free SMS valid for three days from Wednesday, to help them stay connected with their families and rescue and relief teams.
Ncell Corporate Communications, Marketing and Sustainability Director Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka said the company would continue supporting affected communities based on their needs and circumstances.
The company has expressed condolences to those who lost their lives and sympathy to the bereaved families, while wishing for the swift rescue of those still missing.
