NCP panel begins work on allocating responsibilities
Kathmandu October 30
The two-member task force comprising General Secretary Bishnu Poudel and secretariat member Ram Bahadur Thapa has started work on allocating responsibilities to central committee members.
The task force, which was formed during Nepal Communist Party (NCP) secretariat meeting held at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar on October 25, will also allocate responsibilities to members of provincial, district and electoral constituencies of the House of Representatives.
“The task force has held discussion with provincial office bearers and directed them to recommend list of leaders on the basis of seniority, said Onsari Gharti, chairperson of Province 5. “We have already started to reshuffle the names on the priority list on the basis of seniority,” she added.
The NCP (NCP) has 441 members in its central committee announced on May 17 after unification but the members are still without any responsibility.
As per the direction of the task force, the provincial office bearers should recommend district in-charge, co-in-charge, and in-charge of constituencies of the House of Representative. Following the provincial office bearers recommendation, the task force will submit the report to the secretariat. The standing committee will endorse the names after the secretariat submits the proposal.
The NCP (NCP) standing committee meeting, which was scheduled for yesterday and today, has been postponed indefinitely as the task force has not completed its work and also due to Prime Minister and Party Co-Chair KP Sharma Oli’s illness.
