Nepali Congress' candidate Driga Narayan Pandey has won the National Assembly by-poll from Lumbini Province.
Pandey, a common candidate of the opposition-alliance, defeated CPN-UML's Chandra Bahadur Khadka.
The Maoist Centre, Upendra Yadav-led faction of Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal and Rashtriya Janamorcha had thrown their weight behind the NC candidate.
Pandey earned 4140 weightage of votes against Khadka's 3612, securing himself a seat in the Upper House of the Federal Parliament
