Need to shun partisan interests: RPP Chair

HETAUDA: Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Kamal Thapa has said that the major parties should take decisions consciously by giving up partisan interests in order to bring the Madhesi Morcha into the national mainstream.

Addressing a gathering of intellectuals organised by his party here today, DPM Thapa said the major parties should not ignore the Morcha in implementing the constitution by ensuring that they take part in the local level elections.

Local level elections are inevitable for peace, stability and good governance, also understanding among the government and major parties is essential to ensure all parties join the election process, DPM Thapa said.

On the occasion, Former President of All Nepal Football Association Ganesh Thapa and RPP leader Madhu Adhikari called for coordination and understanding between the government and major parties in order to address the demands of the Madhesi Morcha immediately, and thereby making local level elections successful.
