Catering truck hit forces Nepal Airlines to ground Airbus at Hong Kong airport
KATHMANDU: A Nepal Airlines Corporation aircraft has been grounded in Hong Kong after it was hit by a food catering truck on Saturday evening.
The aircraft has sustained a considerable damage to its lower fuselage when the catering truck that came to load food tipped over it, according to the Nepal Airlines Corporation spokesperson, Ramhari Sharma.
The 158-seater Airbus 320 was scheduled to fly back to Kathmandu at 7:05 pm Hong Kong Time.
Damage is being assessed, Sharma said.
After the incident, all passengers and crew members were deplaned from the aircraft and the flight was cancelled.
There are only four aircraft --two Boeings and Airbuses each -- in the national flag carrier's international fleet.
