KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 10
The Nepal Army apprehended four individuals involved in a robbery in the Maharajgunj area, seizing seven firearms along with associated ammunition, including magazines, rounds, bayonets, and other personal items.
Acting on a special tip-off, security personnel also recovered an additional firearm from the Balaju–Machhapokhari area, according to a statement issued by the Nepal Army. To date, a substantial cache of 73 firearms has been recovered from different locations.
Meanwhile, the clash that erupted between inmates and Nepal Police at Dhulikhel District Jail in Kavre has been brought under control. Similarly, the fire that broke out at Dillibazar Jail has been extinguished through the combined efforts of the Nepal Army and other agencies.
Security forces have also recaptured a number of escaped inmates: four in Saptari, 202 in Sunsari, 43 in Rukum (West), 50 in Kapilvastu, and four in Myagdi, out of those who fled from various district jails.
